Health & Social student trips to Budapest

Budapest has a long association with health and therapy. There are 118 natural springs in the city and their thermal and medicinal waters have been valued since Roman times. Today, Budapest is the home to several renowned centre for Health and Social Care innovation, making it an ideal city to visit on an educational trip.

Equity offers students the opportunity to visit four of these internationally acclaimed institutions.

At The Hotel Panda around 90% of the hotel staff are physically or mentally disabled, creating both an inspirational and successful social reintegration scheme. College or University groups can stay at the hotel or visit for a day to meet staff and learn about the project.

Students can also experience a guided visit to the Peto Institute, which employs “Conductive Education” to help people of all ages with motor disorders. Its therapies are based on the theory that despite damage, the nervous system still possesses the capacity to form new neural connections.

Other excursions include guided tours of the The Vadaskert Child Psychiatry Hospital and the The Aga Children’s home.
