Architecture student trips to London
The architecture of London marks the evolution of one of the greatest cities in the world. An Equity educational tour exposes students to a wealth of significant architecture from many ages and different styles.
Despite its treasures, little remains of the city that stood here from Roman times until the Great Fire of 1666. There are a few buildings; Westminster Abbey, The Banqueting Hall, the Tower of London and a few scattered, less famous addresses, such as the George pub in Fleet Street, one of the few wooden buildings to survive.
Equity offers students a range of excursions. On a guided walking tour of London the architectural merits of thirty buildings will be explored. Visiting the Tate Modern shows how the impressive former power station was converted into one of the world’s most influential contemporary art museums. The Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture is a superb resource for students while on a tour of the London Olympic site they will learn about regeneration, the iconic structures of the Games and discuss hopes for its legacy.
