Student trips to Prague

The City of Hundred Spires

Prague is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and makes student tours to Prague educationally rewarding. Named both the city of a hundred spires and Zlatá Praha or Golden Prague, it is its medieval centre that attracts most visitors. Its stunning architecture survived the destruction of the Second World War and was largely untouched by 40 years of Communism, leaving it as a fascinating and beautiful city.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, but not merely an urban museum, Prague is a dynamic and cosmopolitan city. It has fostered a chic creative culture producing original fine art, films and music and the city also attracts successful national and international businesses.

It is an excellent city for Art, Design & Photography and Business & Economics enhancing your students' experience, analysis and perceptions of their subject. Equity has selected a range of excursions for educational trips to enable students to get the most of what Prague has to offer.

Below is a sample of Excursions Equity can organise for your trip to Prague - for subject specific excursions have a look at the
recommended educational trips for Prague

Prague Castle

The Castle should be almost as crucial to your trip to Prague as the buildings have been to the city’s history. The Prague Castle has been the seat of the Bohemian government since its construction over a millennium ago. Arrive on the hour to catch the changing of the guard—the ceremony at noon also includes fanfare.

Charles Bridge

Building Pragues' oldest bridge over the river Vltava, began in 1357 with Charles IV laying the first stone - it was completed in 1402. The bridge is home to 75 statues of saints who tower over street artists, musicians and market traders.

Astronomical Clock Tower and Old Town Hall

Prague’s Old Town Hall, founded in 1338, is a hotchpotch of medieval buildings, presided over by a tall Gothic tower with a splendid Astronomical Clock. At the very top of the clock are two small window's where the figures of the twelve apostles are paraded every hour, during the hours of sunlight.

John Lennon Wall

Western songs were banned during the Communist years, so when someone painted John Lennon’s face on this wall after the iconic singer was shot in 1980, it was an act of defiance against the regime. Since then, the wall has been an ever-changing communal work of art celebrating peace and freedom.

Barrandov Film Studios

Barrandov Film Studios

Often called the 'European Hollywood' Barrandov Film Studios is one of the largest film studio in Europe. Many famous films have been made here including Casino Royal, The Bourne Identity and The Chronicles of Narnia.
