OTHER ART & DESIGN RELATED STUDENT TRIPS

Art, Design & Photography in Madrid

Art & Design student trips to Madrid

For students on an Art, Design and Photography educational trip few places offer the concentrated satisfaction of Madrid’s Golden Triangle, where three of the world’s most important art museums sit within a short walk of each other in the centre of the city.

The Prado Museum houses over 7000 works, including a particularly strong collection of 17th and 18th century Spanish paintings including pieces by Goya, da Ribera and Velázquez.

The Museo Reina Sofía is homage to Spain’s 20th century artists and includes significant bodies of work by Dali and Picasso, amongst others. Probably it’s most famous piece is Picasso’s Guernica.

Whereas the other two institutions allow study in depth, The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza provides diversity. It has artistic works from a staggering breadth of styles, including at least one piece from many of the most famous names.

Madrid’s artistic scene is by no means limited to these three museums, and Equity provide other excursions to enhance the understanding and perception of Art, Design and Photography students during their visit. Itineraries can be tailored to suit specific study requirements.

Art, Design & Photography in Prague

Art & Design student trips to Prague

During the inter-war years Prague was a cross roads for eastern and western European art cultures, breeding a community of artists with a strong sense of innovation. That spirit was crushed by the Nazi invasion and remained inhibited by the Soviet domination. Today innovation is flourishing again. A beautiful cityscape of preserved architecture, worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status, Prague is an aesthete’s heaven.

Art, Design and Photography students on an Equity educational trip benefit from a variety of excursions, selected to enhance their understanding, perception and analysis of their subject.

Itineraries can be individually tailored to meet specific study requirements. Excursions include a visit to the Museum of Decorative Arts to see a fascinating collection of pieces that cross the boundary between applied and fine arts, selected to explore the fusion of form, functionality, beauty and quality.

The House of the Black Madonna is a superb example of cubist architecture and houses works of Czech Cubism and other schools of Czech and International art.
